Peacefully situated on the banks of Lake Bracciano, Kawan Village Roma Flash Sporting has on offer a whole range of facilities for your comfort and relaxation.
The lake, where motor boats are forbidden, is without a doubt one of the cleanest in Europe and is therefore very inviting for bathing. Apart from the pleasant setting and the site’s other qualities, it is only 35 kms from Rome and therefore a prime place to stay when visiting ‘the eternal city’. From Bracciano trains depart for Rome every hour. There are shuttle buses, also every hour, from the campsite to the station.
Rome
Rome, a city which for a long time dominated the ‘civilised world’, encloses evidence of its rich past. The 400 churches, 300 fountains and countless archaeological remains are the prints left by each period in history since the Etruscans.
Rome is situated on the banks of the River Tevere and spreads up into the 7 famous hills surrounding it: Palatino, Aventino, Campidoglio, Quirinale, Viminale, Esquilino and Celio.
All the most famous monuments are to the west of Termini station. ‘Il Palatino and the ‘Fori Imperiali’ (imperial forums) make up the heart of Ancient Rome; ‘Via del Corso’ provides the link with the ‘Foro à la Piazza del Popolo’ to the north, whereas to the east of this road you will come across the famous ‘Piazza di Spagna’ (Square of Spain) and the renowned ‘Fontana di Trevi’ (Trevi fountain). North-west of ‘Foro’, on the other side of the River Tevere, is the Vatican. The historical centre is fascinating to visit and very reasonably priced. In the ‘Trattorias’ around the ‘Piazza Navona’ square and the ‘Trastevere’ district, the menus are very good value for money.
If you don’t have much time and you wish to visit the city quickly, these are the places not to be missed! : the Coloseum, the ‘Domus Aurea’, the St Giovanni Basilica, the ‘Campidoglio’, the ‘Musei Capitolini’, the ‘Foro Romano’, the Trevi fountain, Navona Piazza, the ‘Pantheon’, the St Peter’s Basilica and the Vatican Museums.
But Rome would never let itself get the reputation of a city with nothing but relics and museums! Rome is a lively and vibrating capital city. The inhabitants are there to remind you. Their ‘dolce vita’ way of life, their Mediterranean temperament, their impeccable ‘look’, their culinary specialities are just a few of their present riches which the city is waiting for you to discover.
