The Ardeche region, with its long meandering river and impressive gorges cut into the limestone plateau, is particularly well suited for canoeing and kayaking, or a walking holiday. Do not leave without visiting Ardeche's 'underground' world. Natural masterpieces, such as the Chauvet and Choranche caves, are in abundance and are popular tourist sites.
